As a proud South African, born in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal . Most of my childhood was spent on the South Coast beach with my brother and travelling around the Country visiting family during the school holidays. I always looked forward to our next family Adventure!

In high school my subjects included Geography, Travel & Tourism, History and Business Economics. I then furthered my education completing an International Travel & Tourism diploma course.

My Tourism career started at the age of 17 where I was employed part time at a local Bed & Breakfast working weekends, after school and holidays.  After I completed my tertiary education, I then joined one of South Africa’s biggest Inbound DMC agencies where I was employed in the contracts and buying department. Over the years I moved my way up into a senior reservation’s groups consultant position. My efforts and hard work were acknowledged, receiving the top reservations consultant award and a small share hold percentage into the company. As a result of hard work and dedication, I was placed second in charge to our department manager and often trained new staff members who joining the team.  

After a few years, I decided to spread my wings and joined an Outbound Business Incentives travel agency where I was employed as project manager, planning incentive trips for local South African businesses and fortunate enough to travel overseas with the groups.

My passion however for South Africa as a destination drew me back to the Inbound market where I was employed as a senior proposal’s specialist, carefully planning, packaging, and selling tours to International agencies.

I loved every moment working for these companies. I worked with different people from all over the world, learning about the different cultures and what people look for in travel. I grew as an Individual and I learnt a great deal about Africa and what our beautiful Country holds as a destination!  

I have been fortunate enough to travel abroad to great destinations such as the United Kingdom, France, Netherlands, Sweden and Australia. Although I enjoyed these travelling experiences, NOTHING compares to South Africa, we have so much beauty, diversity, and culture- just waiting to be showcased to the rest of the world!! 

Ruby Travel Solutions was officially opened in 2018…

After the birth of my second child, I wanted to form a company based around the passion and love I hold for this beautiful Country! I knew the only way to showcase this was through the eyes of International travellers!!   

With the love of gemstones, I chose the name  “Ruby”  from the precious Ruby stone that promotes courage and strength, it inspires passion, a zest for life and a fearlessness in the face of any challenge!

In 2020 disaster struck the world and we were all confined to our homes with no travel opportunities available. However, with support from family and friends we persevered and today we remain open and are more passionate than ever to offer unforgettable trips for all !!

I would love to see Ruby Travel Solutions grow from ‘strength to strength’ and truly believe that it will!  I believe our Country has it all! Not only do we have the landscape, but we also have the people! We have come so far as a Nation and together we can grow tourism and bring more guests into this beautiful place we call home!!
